Paul Halverson, Doktor der \u00f6ffentlichen Gesundheit und Gr\u00fcndungsdekan der Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health der Indiana University<\/a>, wird am 1. Februar 2024 eine neue Stelle in Oregon antreten. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n

\n

Die Fairbanks School of Public Health wurde im September 2012 teilweise durch einen Zuschuss von $20 Millionen aus dem Richard M. Fairbanks-Stiftung<\/a>. Halverson kam 2013 als Gr\u00fcndungsdekan hinzu. Die Position reizte ihn, weil sie ihm die M\u00f6glichkeit bot, akademische Arbeit und Praxis an einer Schule zu verbinden, die sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, im Bereich der \u00f6ffentlichen Gesundheit wirklich etwas zu bewegen. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n

W\u00e4hrend seiner zehnj\u00e4hrigen Amtszeit pr\u00e4gte Halverson die Ausrichtung der Schule und war federf\u00fchrend bei der Rekrutierung von Lehrpersonal, der Einrichtung neuer Studieng\u00e4nge und der F\u00f6rderung der Gesundheitsforschung in der Bev\u00f6lkerung. \u201eEs war gro\u00dfartig, dass wir erstklassige Teamleiter, Lehrpersonal und Mitarbeiter zusammenstellen konnten, die sich wirklich f\u00fcr unsere Arbeit einsetzen\u201c, sagte Halverson. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n

Neben dieser Arbeit nannte Halverson den Aufbau von Partnerschaften als einen der grundlegendsten Aspekte seiner Arbeit als Gr\u00fcndungsdekan und sagte: \u201eEines der Dinge, auf die ich am meisten stolz bin, ist, dass die Fairbanks School of Public Health von unseren Kollegen im Gesundheitswesen als Partner angesehen wird.\u201c Von der Zusammenarbeit mit Dr. Virginia Caine, der Leiterin des Gesundheitsamtes von Marion County, bis hin zur Arbeit mit mehreren staatlichen Gesundheitskommissaren und landesweiten Verb\u00e4nden f\u00fcr lokale Gesundheitsbeh\u00f6rden und Krankenh\u00e4user war Halverson ma\u00dfgeblich an der Entwicklung dieser dauerhaften Partnerschaften im Namen der Schule beteiligt. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n

Die Fairbanks School of Public Health hat einen langfristigen Fahrplan f\u00fcr die Zukunft erstellt und sich neben konkreten Forschungsarbeiten und Projekten in Bereichen wie Tabak und COVID-19 der Entwicklung von Empfehlungen f\u00fcr die \u00f6ffentliche Gesundheitspolitik verschrieben. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n

Bei seinem Abschied von seinem Posten ist Halverson zuversichtlich, dass die Fairbanks School of Public Health ihre Arbeit zur St\u00e4rkung des \u00f6ffentlichen Gesundheitssystems in Indiana zum Wohle aller Einwohner von Indiana fortsetzen wird. \u201eUnabh\u00e4ngig davon, wo Sie leben, hat jeder Mensch in Indiana Anspruch auf ein voll funktionsf\u00e4higes \u00f6ffentliches Gesundheitssystem, das dazu beitr\u00e4gt, die Bedingungen zu schaffen, unter denen die Menschen ein erf\u00fclltes und gesundes Leben f\u00fchren k\u00f6nnen.\u201c <\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n
