Le trouble li\u00e9 \u00e0 l'usage d'opio\u00efdes (OUD) est une pr\u00e9occupation s\u00e9rieuse \u00e0 la fois \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle nationale et dans le comt\u00e9 de Marion, dans l'Indiana. En 2017, 365 r\u00e9sidents du comt\u00e9 de Marion ont subi des surdoses mortelles de drogue, avec un taux ajust\u00e9 selon l'\u00e2ge de 38,9 pour 100 000 personnes, contre un taux de l'\u00c9tat de 29,4 pour 100 000 personnes. Un rapport r\u00e9cent a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que 81% de tous les d\u00e9c\u00e8s par surdose dans le comt\u00e9 de Marion concernaient des opio\u00efdes et que les d\u00e9c\u00e8s par surdose li\u00e9s aux opio\u00efdes \u00e9taient souvent sous-estim\u00e9s car de nombreux certificats de d\u00e9c\u00e8s dans l'Indiana n'identifiaient pas les m\u00e9dicaments sp\u00e9cifiques responsables des surdoses de drogue.
