2016 ver\u00f6ffentlichte die Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation einen Bericht, aus dem hervorgeht, dass Indiana zu den Bundesstaaten geh\u00f6rt, die von der Opioidkrise am st\u00e4rksten betroffen waren. 2014 starben \u00fcber 1.100 Einwohner von Indiana an einer Drogenvergiftung \u2013 mehr als bei Autounf\u00e4llen. Zwei Jahre sp\u00e4ter hat Indiana wichtige Schritte zur Eind\u00e4mmung der Epidemie unternommen, aber unser Bundesstaat hat die Wende noch nicht geschafft. 2017 starben vorl\u00e4ufige Daten zufolge \u00fcber 1.700 Einwohner von Indiana an einer Drogen\u00fcberdosis \u2013 ein historischer H\u00f6chststand und ein Anstieg um 75 Prozent seit 2011. Und in Marion County starben im vergangenen Jahr vorl\u00e4ufigen Daten zufolge 355 Menschen an einer Drogen\u00fcberdosis. Die \u00fcberwiegende Mehrheit dieser Todesf\u00e4lle ist auf Opioide zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren. Tats\u00e4chlich deuten detaillierte toxikologische Daten darauf hin, dass Opioide in Marion County f\u00fcr 81 Prozent der Todesf\u00e4lle durch \u00dcberdosierung verantwortlich waren. Die steigende Zahl drogenbedingter Todesf\u00e4lle in Indiana ist auf eine Entwicklung der Opioidkrise zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren, die in Staaten im ganzen Land zu beobachten ist.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n\n
