2016 ver\u00f6ffentlichte die Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation einen Bericht, aus dem hervorgeht, dass der Tabakkonsum in Indiana zu einer schweren Gesundheits- und Wirtschaftskrise gef\u00fchrt hat. Das Rauchen fordert Tausende von Leben und kostet Indiana jedes Jahr Milliarden von Dollar. Zwei Jahre sp\u00e4ter dauert die Krise noch an. Indiana hat einen der h\u00f6chsten Tabakkonsumgrade in den USA. Mit einer landesweiten Raucherquote unter Erwachsenen von 21,1 Prozent geh\u00f6rt Indiana zu den zehn Staaten mit den h\u00f6chsten Raucherquoten des Landes. Ebenso liegt die Raucherquote unter Jugendlichen in Indiana wesentlich h\u00f6her als der nationale Durchschnitt f\u00fcr Acht-, Zehnt- und Zw\u00f6lftkl\u00e4ssler, und die Verwendung elektronischer Zigaretten hat unter Jugendlichen in Indiana seit 2016 deutlich zugenommen. In Marion County liegt die Raucherquote unter Erwachsenen bei 21 Prozent, womit Indianapolis unter den 30 gr\u00f6\u00dften St\u00e4dten der USA den letzten Platz belegt. Die Tabakepidemie in Indianapolis und im ganzen Staat gef\u00e4hrdet das Gef\u00fcge unserer Gemeinden und bedroht unsere Gesundheit, Lebensqualit\u00e4t und unseren wirtschaftlichen Wohlstand.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n\n
